📢 Email Update: May Facts

Aloha Reader!

It's mid-May—the finish line for many of you is so close. It’s a month full of energy: classroom projects coming to life, students showing growth, and communities coming together to honor achievements. It’s also a time when we juggle a lot—testing, field trips, report cards, transitions, and year-end celebrations. Savor these moments of celebration!

Did you know?

  • May is named after Maia, the Roman goddess of growth—how fitting for educators nurturing learners each day.
  • It’s home to Teacher Appreciation Week, Mother’s Day, and Mental Health Awareness Month—reminders to celebrate, uplift, and care for ourselves and one another.
  • May’s birthstone is emerald, symbolizing renewal and wisdom. Its flower, Lily of the Valley, represents humility and happiness.

In the midst of all the activity, pause to celebrate how far you've come. Appreciate the growth, both big and small, and hold space for rest and reflection.

May is a month of meaning. Keep leading with heart, presence, and purpose. And don’t forget to take care of yourself as you continue to care for your students.
